Oatie like you’ve never seen her

I think this video speaks for itself, though I’d love to hear your opinions. Is she having fun? Is she stressed or upset? Or is she being aggressive? If you watch Oatmeal’s tail, it looks like she’s having fun, right? Roscoe’s tail is always up, so I assume he’s having fun, too.

And in case you didn’t believe your eyes or if you thought it was a one-time occurrence, here’s another time I caught them going at it.

I couldn’t get the first video to load, so this is all from the second video…

Looking at her body language, initially it really looks like she’s playing with him. Her tails stays up the whole time (there’s a little dip right after the first little sparring match, but otherwise it’s held high or wagging) and at the end she looks like a normal adult dog teaching the puppy about dog hierarchy.

She doesn’t look unduly anxious – the look she gives the camera is pretty priceless (“are you going to do anything about this?”) but it says to me that she’s looking to the alpha for permission to handle the situation herself.

    My $.02…

I fixed the video so you should be able to see it now.

As for the look she gives the camera–she hates the camera and every time she sees it she stops what she’s doing and usually runs away.

    I appreciate your two cents!!

Interesting contrast-the calm, authoritative voice of NPR in the background while two dogs go at it.
